  • Sotanghon noodles
  • Pechay

Soup Ingredients:

  • 6 ½ cups Water

Steps:

  1. Soak the Sotanghon noodles in water for 30 minutes and drain.
  2. In a separate pot, boil the water, meat bones, ginger, garlic, and pepper. 
  3. Remove the bones after simmering for an hour.
  4. Add the soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, gabi, and carrots from the soup ingredients. 
  5. Simmer for a few minutes and season with salt as preferred.
  6. Keep the soup boiling as you put in the hotpot ingredients you like.
  7. Let cook for a few minutes before transferring to a soup bowl.
  8. Repeat steps number 6 and 7 until satisfied. 

Filipino Style Chicken Inasal

Whether you or your partner are on a diet, you surely can’t resist a good Chicken Inasal dish with unlimited rice and chicken oil! To make this recipe, all you need is a Hanabishi Griller and the following ingredients:

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 4 pieces
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ⅛ cup calamansi, squeezed
  • ⅛ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ½ pc garlic head, minced
  • ½ pc small ginger, peeled and grated
  • Lemongrass

Chicken Oil Ingredients:

  • ¼ kilo chicken skin
  • ⅛ cup atsuete seeds
  • 1 pc garlic clove, pounded
  • ½ bay leaf

Steps to make the chicken oil:

  1. In a medium-heated pan, cook the chicken skin until crispy.
  2. After all the oil has been rendered, remove the chicken skin from the pan.
  3. Add the atsuete, garlic, and bay leaf to the chicken oil. Stir over low heat.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Set aside the chicken oil for 1 hour to allow it to steep. 
  6. Drain the oil in a separate container and set it aside.

Steps to make the chicken Inasal:

  1. Remove the root and leaves of the lemongrass. Peel off the outer portion until you reach the white and light green core. Chop into fine pieces.
  2. Get a bowl and mix the lemongrass, calamansi, vinegar, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper, and sugar. 
  3. Marinate the chicken for a few hours to let it set.

  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, and place it on the griller.
  6. While cooking, turn the chicken from time to time and baste it with the chicken oil.
  7. When fully cooked, turn off the heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
